DIY: Travel Theme Snack Buffet

My first attempt on making a DIY candy buffet was on my own wedding but it is a major fail so I decided to not show it here anymore on the blog, the second try was on Jashley's first birthday and I guess it was a success this time. when my soon-to-be sister in law then, saw it, she asked me if I can also make one for her wedding, I'm a little hesistant at first because unlike for birthdays, which guests are mostly kids, preparing a treat is a lot more easier, than for wedding which guest are mostly adults. But I accept it anyway.

Their theme was travel and the color motiff was yellow and brown. Since this is a wedding I thought that it is more apropriate if I will serve snacks that adult can enjoy, rather than candies.

What I did was to find bought store snacks that is either yellow or brown. So here are the list of the snacks I found at SM supermarket.

*Yellow Wafer Stick (Cheese flavor)

*Brown Wafer Stick (Chocolate flavor)

*Chocolate Chip Cookies

*Mini Mamon Cupcakes

*Yellow Marshmallows (Mango flavor)

*Brown Marshmallows (Chocolate flavor)

*Dew Berry Cookies (Peaches & Mango flavor)

*Orange Candy Coated Chocolate (the yellow color where out stock that time so I use the orange color instead)

To incorporate the Wedding's theme I printed out signages which says "In flight Snacks", food labels which has a navigator style background, country flags cupcake toppers.

Luckily I found a scrapbooking travel theme kit on my scrapbooking stash, I used the map background papers to wrap the letters A and M (which is the couples initial) cardboard that I bought from Divisoria and stick travel stickers for the ampersand sign.

I also made a yellow & brown paper airplanes which I attached to a thin wire that I got from Daiso that serves as a stem, and arrange it like a bouquet of flower and put it in a vase.

The yellow paper cups was from Divisoria too, 60php for 50 pcs. The jars and plates used was the same items that I used on Jashley's candy buffet on her first birthday except for the cupcake stand, since I cannot find a yellow cupcake tower cardboard like the one I use on Jashley's birthday, I just decided to buy this one which is made of a plastic material at SM Megamall department store for around 250php, and because that is made out of plastic materials that means I can use it again and again on my next DIY buffets.

DIY: Flower Girls Headbands

One of my last minute DIY is this Headbands/Headdress for my little girls.

In creating the flowers you will need a fabric, a circle templates in 2-3 different sizes, scissor, candle, and a brads/embelishments. 

First cut a circles on fabric, 

then with your candle heat the edges of the fabric so it will curl-up slightly. 

Do these on all your circle fabrics. Then stack around 6 pieces of the circle fabrics, 2-3 piece on every size. Then add a crystal, pearl or any brads you have. 

Its time to create your headbands, you will need a simple headbands, the fabric flower you create, ribbons, fabric glue/glue gun and other additional decoration you think can be used.

I just wrap the ribbon to the plain headband then attached the fabric flowers, a silver ribbon and the string with stone & pearls that i bought from national bookstore.

DIY: Hanging Photo

Another DIY is a our picture display for the registration table. I just simply layout a polaroid style pictures of us and print it on a photo paper. I want to hang these pictures using a wooden clips but of course I dont want just a plain clips, and since I don't have time to do a DIY letter blocks to spell out our name, I thought the covered button with letters will be a perfect alternative. The step is just the same as my covered button for the pen holder. But this time I use stamp letters to achive a consitency in font style & size. 

1. Cut a piece of fabric, the size depends on your covered button size.
2. Stamp the letter using the stamp letter & stamp pad.

3. Then follow the instruction on the back of the carton of this covered buttons on how to attach the fabric on the button. Just make sure that your letter is on the middle part of the button.

4. Attached your finished covered button onto the wooden clips.

5. Do these on every letter to spell out your name/words.

6. Tie one end of the string/yarn into a bottle and the other end to another bottle to create something that will look like a clotheline.
7. Bring out your photos & time to clip it into your clotheline using your wooden
clips.

While clipping the photos on clothesline I suddenly realize that my name was too long and I cannot fit it all. So I decided to just use our nicknames "BRY♥MEI"

DIY: Guestbook Pen & Pen Holder

It's been 3 months already after our wedding, I thought I will not be busy anymore but because I got a lot of work to do, plus my family visit me here last month, and that honeyko♥ & I are going to be a parent now, I become a little busy and almost forgot that I need to update my DIYs so I can share it with the soon to be Brides out there.

So here is our DIY Guestbook Pen. It is actually a permanent marker with a fine felt tip that can write in a glossy surface or even on glass, and it dries fast so no smudging compare to those gel pens that you need to wait to dries first when writes on glossy surface. I bought this from DAISO for 2 singdollar for 3 pens. At first my plan is to wrap a jute string around the pen beacause I saw this inspiration on the internet, but since I cannot find a nice jute string here and I think this look will be more on rustic style compare to a shabby chic style, I tried to think an alternative for a jute string and that is yarn, the good thing about the yarn is I can have the color that I want and I i think it is more comfortable for my guest to hold the pen since yarn is soft compare to a jute string.

Anyway let me tell you how I do it. You just need to do 2 somple steps:

1. Wrap the yarn around the pen, both the body & the cap. 

2. Then put a fabric flower on top end part of the pen. (the fabric flower I used is a scrapbooking embellishment which I collect, but if you don't have a pre-made one, just  google some tutorial on how to do a fabric flower.)

Easy right? I think you can also Use some fresh flowers If you can't make the fabric one. 

Because I'm not happy that my pen will be just laying on the registration table so I also create a pen container. You need a small piece of burlap fabric or any fabric you want, a covered buttons, a permanent marker, a mason jar, string/yarn and a glue gun. Then follow these steps:

1. Cut a piece of fabric, the size depends on your covered button size.

2. Hand write the letter with a permanent marker.

3. Then follow the instruction on the back of the carton of the covered buttons on how to attach the fabric on the button. Just make sure that your letter is on the middle part of the button. 

4. Attached your finished covered button onto the string/yarn.

5. Tied it into the mason jar. You can put a little glue at the back of the buttons to secure it in place like what I did.

DIY: Coin Pillow

When I saw this pink polka dots pillow in Daiso, I quickly grab it thinking this is a great pillow for our Coin Pillow. I just basically add the silver satin flowers that I made, tie a ribbon at the bottom part, and just sew a covered button in the center, I am planning to put the coins in a see-through fabric pouch and just sit it at the center of the pillow.

DIY: Bunting

Another finished DIY is our bunting  that we're gonna use in decorating our DIY candy buffet table. I don't know yet the exact size of the table that the venue will provide for us so I just prepared 2 extra triangle flags in case we need a longer bunting.

DIY: Guestbook Sign

Initially my plan is to use scrabble tiles to spell the "SIGN OUR GUESTBOOK" as a decoration in our registration table. But because of these wooden blocks that I found in Daiso, the scrabble tiles is now out of the picture.Hehe...

 Here's what I did, luckily the size of the letters in my template is just right for the size of the blocks that i bought. I just simply trace the letters on the wooden blocks using a permanent markers.
And voila!!! instant decoration. =)

DIY: Fabric Flowers

Another accomplished DIY are these cute assorted flowers. I really had fun making these flowers and actually don't know yet where will I use some of them. Sorry I dont have the procedure on how to do it, I just randomly searched tutorials over the net and try to do it.

DIY: "Here Comes the Bride" Banner

3 more weeks before our "Big Day", and I still need to do alot of DIYs, I actually accomplished alot of thing last week. And I am sharing you one of those. I actually cross this out on my list since I cannot find a burlap fabric here in singapore, but when I saw this pink fabric in Daiso (i don'y know exactly what kind of fabric is this), an idea hit me, and I think it would be a perfect alternative to a burlap fabric for this project. I also bought the letter template to use for this project.

I cut out letters to spell the "KUYA BRY" on the gray felt fabric then cover it with a lace fabric (this lace fabric is actually a lace curtain that I also got from Daiso). I do the same procedure for the "BRIDE" but using a white felt fabric as a base. 

 Then I write the "HERE COMES" using the template on the pink fabric, and freehand writing the "YOUR" word.  And finally I attached the cut out letters to the pink fabric using fabric glue.

Here is the final product. I add a heart shape on top of the letter I on the BRIDE. I am still thinking if I will use a stick or just attach a string for the handle on top.   

And here is my inspiration. I think i will also add some flower embelishments on sides.

DIY: Boutonniere

Whhheee!!! I'm done with our DIY boutonniere, and I'm so excited to share it.

Here is the materials I used. Lace & felt fabrics, ribbons, crochet doilies, buttons, and of course fabric adhesive (that i just forgot to include on this photo).

Sorry I don't have pictures for the step by step guide on how to do it, but I am pretty sure you can figure it out how I create this. So easy.

DIY: Invitation Part 3

Finally our DIY invitation is already done, yey!!! Let me show you how we assemble the finished product.

I create first these cute butterflies using again dies and die cutting machine,
and a pink distress ink to add a color.

Time to Assemble. I glued first the pink ribbon around the invitation cover and add a piece of flower. Then I add the elements that will hold our logo which is the big flower & the big butterfly, then just add the remaining elements which is the small flowers and the small butterfly. And Attach the pocket fold inside the cover page. 

Here is the final product. I created 2 cover layout designs.

This design is for our Principal Sponsors. 

And this is for our Guests.      

The page after the cover shows our cute caricature drawn by a friend.

Then next page holds the main invites on the left side then on the right side is a pocket fold type which holds the other info about the wedding.

so we change it to tracing paper. 

Adding up the tag for our guests names. 

Inserting inside the DIY envelope, but I'm not the one who did this, honeyko♥ ask his neighbor/friend to sew this using a thin fabric that he bought in national bookstore.
