DIY: Invitation Part 3

Finally our DIY invitation is already done, yey!!! Let me show you how we assemble the finished product.

I create first these cute butterflies using again dies and die cutting machine,
and a pink distress ink to add a color.

Time to Assemble. I glued first the pink ribbon around the invitation cover and add a piece of flower. Then I add the elements that will hold our logo which is the big flower & the big butterfly, then just add the remaining elements which is the small flowers and the small butterfly. And Attach the pocket fold inside the cover page. 

Here is the final product. I created 2 cover layout designs.

This design is for our Principal Sponsors. 

And this is for our Guests.      

The page after the cover shows our cute caricature drawn by a friend.

Then next page holds the main invites on the left side then on the right side is a pocket fold type which holds the other info about the wedding.

honeyko♥ don't like the look of the plain white cardstock paper that I first used
so we change it to tracing paper. 

Adding up the tag for our guests names. 

Inserting inside the DIY envelope, but I'm not the one who did this, honeyko♥ ask his neighbor/friend to sew this using a thin fabric that he bought in national bookstore.

Our Wedding Caricature

A college friend of mine gave us a hand drawn caricature of us for our wedding. We use this caricature in our DIY invites, We will share it with you here once we finished distributing all the invites. For now let us share with you the caricature first, of course it goes with our shabby/vintage chic theme and pink & gray motif.

DIY: Save the Date Video

Sorry folks, I know that it's been a long time since I updated this blog, its just that I'm kinda busy right now with this wedding preparations, and also with my job and other personal things. Anyway back to our main topic, lately I have been also busy learning (self taught) this video editing using ProShow Producer, I finished a total of 3 AVPs, our Growing-Up pictures video, Together pictures video, and this Save the Date video that I will share with you. The bride & groom images that I used in creating this video is a downloaded digital scrapbook elements that I just downloaded over the internet. So here it is.  

For the first two videos that I mentioned, I will upload it after the wedding, cause I want it to be watched first on my wedding day.

DIY: Invites Layout

I've told you I love this long weekend but I hope I'm in the Philippines so I can have another holiday tomorrow. Anyway still love my holiday here in Singapore because I manage also to finish the layout of our invites that will be inserted in our DIY pocket fold invitation. I will send this to honeyko♥ for him to print it out since printing here in Sg is so expensive. I'll bring our DIY pocket fold invitation when I go back to Philippines this October and will just glue and insert this printed layout.

This is the main invites that will glued at the left side of the pocket fold (see the template design on this post)

Here is the layouts that will be inserted inside the pocket fold.

So happy with the map that I downloaded at the Greenery wbsite because it goes within our color motif pink & gray except for the blue.

And this will be the arrangement when they are combined inside the pocket fold.

DIY: Photobooth Layout

Another DIY I finished today is our customized photobooth layout, I got this idea from one of the bride in the GirlTalk forum. After I saw their layout I talk to our Photobooth supplier if we can make our own layout. Since I also into digital scrapbooking and I have collected already a lot of digscrap stuffs even before this wedding planning thing, so it became easy for me to finish this layout. Our theme is a shabby/vintage chic.

The photos will go on the blank spaces in the layout so this will be in png file when we give to our supplier. I show this to honeyko♥ but he thinks the design is a bit simple or is it because the layout is in light colors. If we still have time I will try to revised it next time. =)

DIY: Invitation Part 2

Yey!!! Thanks for the long weekend I got a lot of time for my DIY's. This is the 2nd part of my DIY invitation, I will be sharing the step by step process on how I create our DIY invitation.

First is the Cover:

1. Using 12"x12" patterned paper. Cut in half to get a 6"x12".

2. Score the 12"x6" paper into the middle of 12" and fold it. 

3. Using your preferred die design, place the die in the middle of the 6"x12" (i use a tape so the die will hold in place).

4. Run it through a die cutting machine cutting only half of the die and the paper.

5. Run it again the whole paper through the machine but with a embossing pad underneath to emboss the half part of the design.

6. Snip off the half off the upper and bottom part of the paper to reveal the design.

7. The final cover design. Half embossed and half cut.

The Pocket Fold:

1. Using again a 12"x12" paper, but this time is a plain one. Cut in half to get a 6"x12".
2. Score it using the given sizes on my previous post.
3. After scoring cut off the excess paper at the side and bottom.
4. Fold it along your score lines.

1. I create a template for this pocket using an acetate and trace it on the paper.

2. Cut it along the trace line.

3. Using an embossing folder, place the paper inside the folder and run through your machine.

4. Paste it on the previous paper to create a pocket fold.

The Monogram:

1. Cut circles using dies and die cut machine or a circle puncher if you have.

2. Prepare the following tools: personalized rubber stamp, stamp pad, embossing powder (i use silver color), heat gun, small brush, circle papers.

3. Stamp your  rubber stamp to the circle paper.

4. Put the embossing powder then gently tap off and brush the excess powder around the image.

5. Heat the image with the heat gun until the embossing powder melts.

6. See the difference after heating.

The Flower embellishment:

1. I use TimHoltz Tattered Florals dies and cutting machine.

2. Cut the flowers, I just use the smallest flower.

3. Using a twisted paper clip, I create a creases in each of the flower petals.

4. See the difference compare to the flat flowers in number figure 2.

5. Stick 3 layer of the flower using glue.

6. Add brads or jewels at the top.

So far this is what I accomplished, 80 pieces of the cover, 80 pieces of the pocket fold, 80 pieces of the monogram and 320 pieces of the flowers since I'll be needing 4 pieces in each invitation. I still don't have the other stuffs I need in order to finish the invitation so for now this is all I can share. =)

DIY: Invitation Part 1

I am working now on another DIY for our wedding, our invitations. At first we plan to just get someone to do for us, but we cannot find anyone who can make the design we want. One day while I'm doing a scrapbook layout for our scrapbook album that we are also planning to display on our wedding reception, an idea suddenly hits me. Since both of us are into scrapbooking (well actually ako lang talaga, nahilig nalang din si   honeyko♥  because minsan pinipilit ko sha na gumawa din..haha..) we decided to have a scrapbook style invitation. I start finding and buying things that I needed for the project and when I actually compute the cost, Oh boy! I spent almost the same cost we will spend if we just get someone to do it for us. But who cares atleast the design is something we really want. And the best part is I gain additional scrapping tools..hihi..Let me share you first what are the materials I used and an overview of the card design as I cannot post yet the finished product coz it is still under construction.

Materials used in this project:

- papers (both plain and patterned paper)
- die cutting machine (used in scrapbooking)
- dies (any design you prefer)
- embossing folders
- ribbon
- logo stamp (customized rubber stamp of your logo/monogram)
- embossing powder (any color of your choice)
- heat gun tool
- glue/adhesives
- cutting tool
- scoring tool
- printed out invitation pages (i use photoshop to layout the deisgn)
- photoshop software
- autocad software

 This is an overview of the design we wanted to achieve. I'll discuss about this on my second part of  this DIY invitation.

DIY: WYB cards

Here is another DIY I made for our wedding, our "Will You Be" cards. I got this idea from one of the bride in the wedding forum I've been visiting. I made this in photoshop, the pictures I use is just some random wedding pictures I got over the net. And of course our logo as I mentioned from my previous post was drawn by my honeyko♥. By the way this is our color motif pink&gray and I wanted to have a shabby chic / vintage chic wedding theme.

DIY: our wedding monogram

A monogram is a motif made by overlapping or combining two or more letters form one symbol.  Monograms is usually used in weddings, the typical one i usually see is the initials of the names of the couples combined or interlaced with each other. 

Let us share with you the story behind our very own monogram, at first glance you will see that it is like a butterfly but it is actually letters "JB" that is interlaced with each other, then there's a heart at the top that symbolizes the love we have for each other. 

 honeyko♥ is the one who create this monogram, i think about 3 or 4 years ago, we first use this as our scrapbook cover. Since I love butterfly so much so he created something that will look like a butterfly.

We try to enhance it by adding colors and designs around the logo.   

Then we enhanced again for our wedding monogram, this one is again drawn by honeyko♥ using autocad then I used photoshop to render it. Hopefully this would be the final one.

we are gonna tie the knot

Hi everyone, I am very excited to announce to all of you that we are gonna tie the knot next year, yiheee... the date will be exactly the day after our 9th year anniversary. Right now we are busy preparing things for our big day, though it may be hard for us since we are miles away from each other in these times, we still trying our best to make this day a very special one. So Instead of making a separate wedding site for our wedding preparation we prefer to use this site to share our preparation experiences and our wedding day as well.
