Quality time with my little girl

Yesterday while I was doing a household chore, Jashley run towards me with 2 toy cups on her hand she told me "One for Mommy (while giving me one of the cups) and one for Jashley". Since I cannot accept what she was giving to me because I have a dirty hands that time, I said sorry and told her that we'll play after I finish the chore that I was doing.

After that scenario I realized that With all the busyness happened at home over the past few weeks, its been a while since I have spend a quality time with her, well, we do have this "short quality time" with her every night before we sleep (if she's still awake when we arrived home from work) but unlike before, if we don't have any plans of going out on Sunday, we have the whole afternoon to just play. I usually prepare an activity for her to do or if I wasn't able to prepare one, we will just play whith her toys. But as what I have said for some reasons we wasn't able to do that lately.

So yesterday while she's having her afternoon nap. I prepared an activity that we can do that won't need a lot of preparation time. Since she's offering me a drink with her toy cup earlier, I thought of using those toys for the activity that I have in mind.

We had an indoor picnic.

Pouring some yougurt drink on Mommy's cup

Then on her own cup

Passing to me the pitcher

Asked me to pour some on her cup

Let's have a toast Mommy

Enjoying her drink

See that smile on her face?

After we finished eating those snacks I asked her "Are you happy with what we did?", she replied "opo" with a big smile on her face.

I'm glad that she enjoyed the activity we did yesterday, I actually had fun too. We'll surely do this again and with Daddy next time.

How about you Mommies do you also have any bonding activities with your little ones that you could share? I would like to hear those too.

Jashley's Second Trick-or-Treat Experience

As I have mentioned on my previous post, our office organized a Haloween Party last friday, there is actually no plan for that at first, original plan is to just held a room decorating contest among the Teams. It just happened that almost all of the project that we were working on was due for client submission on the day before the event which is thursday. And that means we will have a very light work load or no work load at all until the client send a comments/revisions for those projects. And since it was friday also, our UAE offices are closed for weekend, In that case we will not going to receive any work load from them on that day. So the management in our office here in Manila decided (a last minute decision which is 3 days prior to the event) to have a simple party on that day, there were no program actually, just a simple snack, a trick or treat activity for the kids, a mini fashion show to flaunt each and everyones Halloween costumes.

So let's now move on to the day of the event, I'll just have a brief description on some photos and  just let the pictures tell the happenings on that day.

Our Design Concept was Graveyard
This is the entrance to our room we made it look like you were entering a cave graveyard.
Upon entering you will be greeted by this Happy Halloween sign with our trick or treat candies for kids.
Here's the closer look of our sweet goodies for the kids. (Will make a separate post regarding this another DIY of mine)

Bats are flying everywhere.

Look who visits Mommy's workplace that day.
Playing with the bat cutouts.
Future Architect like Mommy.
Mommy can I have one please?

Showing her monster mallows.
Say hi to my little cutie clown. I made her costume the night before the event (lets talk about that costume on a separate post.)

Mommy and  and her little cutie clown.

I let her take a nap before the trick or treat activity
starts.
I took the opprtunity of taking some photos with my colleagues while my little clown is taking her nap. She doesn't want to come out of our room kasi because she's afraid with others costume and decorations.

Trick or treating alone, since she was still sleeping when the other kids started the activity.

Her bag full of treat that she cannot carry anymore.

Enjoying some of her received treats.

Happy little girl with all her goodies.

DIY: Travel Theme Snack Buffet

My first attempt on making a DIY candy buffet was on my own wedding but it is a major fail so I decided to not show it here anymore on the blog, the second try was on Jashley's first birthday and I guess it was a success this time. when my soon-to-be sister in law then, saw it, she asked me if I can also make one for her wedding, I'm a little hesistant at first because unlike for birthdays, which guests are mostly kids, preparing a treat is a lot more easier, than for wedding which guest are mostly adults. But I accept it anyway.

Their theme was travel and the color motiff was yellow and brown. Since this is a wedding I thought that it is more apropriate if I will serve snacks that adult can enjoy, rather than candies.

What I did was to find bought store snacks that is either yellow or brown. So here are the list of the snacks I found at SM supermarket.

*Yellow Wafer Stick (Cheese flavor)
*Brown Wafer Stick (Chocolate flavor)
*Chocolate Chip Cookies
*Mini Mamon Cupcakes
*Yellow Marshmallows (Mango flavor)
*Brown Marshmallows (Chocolate flavor)
*Dew Berry Cookies (Peaches & Mango flavor)
*Orange Candy Coated Chocolate (the yellow color where out stock that time so I use the orange color instead)

To incorporate the Wedding's theme I printed out signages which says "In flight Snacks", food labels which has a navigator style background, country flags cupcake toppers.

Luckily I found a scrapbooking travel theme kit on my scrapbooking stash, I used the map background papers to wrap the letters A and M (which is the couples initial) cardboard that I bought from Divisoria and stick travel stickers for the ampersand sign.

I also made a yellow & brown paper airplanes which I attached to a thin wire that I got from Daiso that serves as a stem, and arrange it like a bouquet of flower and put it in a vase.

The yellow paper cups was from Divisoria too, 60php for 50 pcs. The jars and plates used was the same items that I used on Jashley's candy buffet on her first birthday except for the cupcake stand, since I cannot find a yellow cupcake tower cardboard like the one I use on Jashley's birthday, I just decided to buy this one which is made of a plastic material at SM Megamall department store for around 250php, and because that is made out of plastic materials that means I can use it again and again on my next DIY buffets.

Hope you like my DIY Travel theme snack buffet. Till next time. Bye bye.
